What is the salary ?


The salary is $1900 - $2000/ month, dependent upon experience




Is my flight paid for?


The flight cost will be reimbursed up to $1100.




Do I need a passport?


English First accepts valid passports from the following countries: US, UK, Canada, Ireland, Australia and New Zealand




Do I need a visa?


YES. Once an applicant has been accepted, English First will provide information and documentation to obtain a visa.




Is housing included?


For the first two weeks of your school assignment, English First will pay for your hotel room. During that time, EF will work with you to secure housing. There are several housing options, EF will help you to find the location best suited to your lifestyle.




Do I need a bachelor’s degree?


Yes. A bachelor’s degree in any discipline is accepted (part of the requirement for getting a visa).




Do I need a TEFL Certificate?


Once accepted, EF will sponsor the applicant to obtain the TEFL Certificate required by EF. The TEFL Certificate will be completed online before the applicant arrives at their school placement.




Is there a background check?


YES. Applicants must pass a background check before moving forward in the hiring process.




Will someone from EF meet me at the airport?


YES. EF will pick you up at the airport, provide a meet/greet with other teachers and staff, connect you to the online community and offer weekly cultural/social events.




Do I get time off?


YES. There are 10 annual leave days plus 11 national holidays.




What are my teaching hours?


Hours will vary by school, but generally it is 35 hours/week of which 16-18 are teaching hours.




How long is the application process?


Generally, the application process is 3-5 months. This includes hiring interviews, getting your TEFL Certificate, securing your visa and traveling to your first school assignment.




Is there an opportunity to stay longer than one year?


YES. If your experience has been positive, the applicant may apply to stay for another year at the same assignment or may elect to take advantage of other options provided by EF.
